High (above 3.5 ng/mL): Indicates a good ovarian reserve. However, very high levels (above 6.0 ng/mL) may suggest PCOS and an increased risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) during IVF stimulation.
Normal (1.0 – 3.5 ng/mL): Suggests a healthy egg supply appropriate for your age. IVF protocols can be tailored with confidence at these levels.
Low (0.5 – 1.0 ng/mL): Indicates diminished ovarian reserve. Conception is still possible but may require adjusted stimulation protocols, higher medication doses, or additional IVF cycles.
Very Low (below 0.5 ng/mL): Suggests significantly reduced egg supply. Our specialists will discuss options including mild stimulation IVF, natural cycle IVF, or in some cases, donor egg programmes.

Why AMH Testing Matters Before IVF

Natural Cycle IVF: For women with very low AMH where stimulation produces minimal response, retrieving the single natural egg each cycle — avoiding heavy medication — is sometimes the most effective approach.
Egg accumulation: Freezing eggs from multiple cycles and fertilising them together gives low-AMH patients more embryos to work with without undergoing multiple full IVF transfers.
Lifestyle optimisation: CoQ10 supplementation, DHEA (under medical supervision), vitamin D, and reduction of oxidative stress have emerging evidence supporting egg quality improvement — particularly relevant when quantity is limited.
